I really like a theme wedding. They truly can be a lot of fun. Last weekend I went to a fantastic wedding and reception. The ceremony and reception was done in country western.
They chose a small country church to hold the wedding ceremony. They had satin bows and ribbon to decorate the pews and beautiful flower arrangements with candles all around the altar. With the flowered hair pieces and the lovely baby blue dresses the bridesmaids and flower girl looked spectacular. The little ring boy was adorable in his little tux, and the groomsmen were very handsome in theirs, with the white boutonnieres in the lapels. But the real attraction was the beautiful bride and her elegant groom. They were a picure perfect couple. When the ceremony ended the happy couple left for the reception in a horse drawn buggy.
The couple were having their reception at the country house they had bought a couple of months before. This was a prime piece of property, with a nice house, a barn and two acres of land. What a wonderful place to start a new life together, it’s perfect.
She did a fantastic job arranging her reception. It was spectacular. All the tables had red and white checkered table cloths, with little metal buckets of wildflowers in them. Her choice of wedding themes and country decorations was so fantastic. There were strings of white christmas lights all around the picnic tables, with a few old fashioned lanterns here and there. There were bales of hay stacked here and there with corn stalks on the barn doors. They made sure there were plenty of things the kids would enjoy as well as the adults. There were horse shoes, bobbing for apples, and barn dancing. It was great fun for everyone.
They had a gorgeous cake with a funny country western cake topper that gave everyone a good laugh. The cutest cake topper I’ve ever seen. The western themed champagne flutes were really unique. And she made place card holders out of these little cowboy hats. I thought that was very creative.
The food they chose for the reception was unbelievable. Since they did a lot of grilling, we had our choice of steaks, ribs, and chicken, plus all kinds of salads and vegetables. There was plenty of great food to choose from. The fun never stopped, we danced, ate great foods, and had a fantastic time. It was a great country western themed reception.
A beach themed reception is another great party to go to. There is nothing more beautiful than a beach wedding ceremony. It’s so romantic with the sunset above the ocean. With the feel of warm breezes and the sounds of the water, you can feel the romance in the air. I plan on having a beach wedding and reception too, one day.
It was such a relaxed ceremony, with all wedding party and beautiful summer dresses and beach wear. Her gorgeous crepe bridal dress was as blue as the ocean waters, and his white linen attire made him even more handsome than he already was. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect ceremony than this wonderful dream wedding.
Their reception was more than elegant too. All the tables were decorated with the beach theme in mind. The centerpieces were little trays filled with sand and two large pillar candles with seashells, starfish and orchids all around them. She had the most adorable sea shell place card holders and beautiful beach themed champagne glasses on all her tables.
She had everything in a beautiful beach décor, from her wedding cake topper to the wonderful theme wedding decorations she had put together. This was a ceremony and reception I will never forget.

Thursday, November 26th, 2009My daughter is turning sixteen and I was looking for some unique ideas for her party. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So, I decided to check it out. I couldn’t believe all the nice table accessories and party favors that were available. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.
I talked to my daughter and got her views on what type of party she wanted to have, and she decided on a roller skating and slumber birthday party. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I put out the cookies I had made, along with a few other snacks, and set up birthday decorations.
When I was searching the web for birthday ideas, I ordered a few other things besides the cookie cutters. Since this birthday party wasn’t costing me what I thought it would, I decided to order a few sweet sixteen favors for the girls. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.
Another party favor was a cosmetic bag with their first initial printed on the front. Along with that I also bought compact mirrors and manicure sets that matched their bags. Each of the girls also received a very decorative favor box filled with candies. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen party favor and watch her open her presents. We picked up movies on the way home for the girls and I made sure they had plenty of snacks and drinks, so they were all set for the night. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. From all the noise and laughing you knew they were having the time of their lives.
After they tired themselves out, they decided to put on a movie and grab the popcorn. Even though I tried to stay out of the way, when they asked me to watch a movie with them, I jumped at the chance. It made me feel good that they wanted to include me. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.
They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the sweet sixteen ideas I bought for them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?

First of all, we decided to have a winter wonderland theme wedding since we were getting married in December, and I found so much to work with. This was like a dream come true, dancing around the room with my new husband as everyone watched.
Everyone was having a fantastic time and this reception was perfection from beginning to end. The men in our wedding party really liked the wedding groomsmen gifts we had for them and my bridesmaids thanked me for theirs too. Naturally, after getting a look at their inventory, I made the decision to order all my needed wedding supplies and decorations at their online store.
First of all, we decided to have a winter wonderland theme wedding since we were getting married in December, and I found so much to work with. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.
I ordered more than the cookie cutters when I went shopping online. When the noise starting dwindling down they got out the bowls of popcorn and started watching their movies. Even though I tried to stay out of the way, when they asked me to watch a movie with them, I jumped at the chance. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. All that was left was my daughter and I, at least for a few minutes. With her eyes almost closed, she told me how much she loved her birthday party and thanked me.

Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the sweet 16 favors I got them. The Search For Summer Wedding Themes!
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009I didn’t have as many problems planning an outside wedding as I thought I would. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an elegant garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I found there were several great locations that would work out perfectly for an outdoor wedding.
Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. If you’re going to have your ceremony outside, it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan just in case the weather turns on you. A tent was suggested just in case the weather turns out badly.
In our original wedding preparations, we had a lovely canopy set up for the reception and a lovely trellis for our ceremony. I mainly concentrated on the decorations for our wedding table and the reception tables. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. I decided to go with artificial flowers because I didn’t want to have our wedding to be the target of a bee swarm. You couldn’t tell they were artificial they were so beautiful,they looked like the real deal. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. Even though some summer wedding themes are fantastic, the heat can totally destroy your gorgeous wedding cake.
As far as table décor, I found so many fantastic accessories for our reception. Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. For each of our guests there were beautiful chrome bottle openers in lovely designed favor boxes, as a summer wedding invitation. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.
While shopping for my wedding accessories I saw this topper and couldn’t resist it. They do customizing for the bride and groom. After I sent them a head shot of my fiance and myself they made our bride and groom topper to look exactly like us. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. Everything I ordered for our ceremony and reception was the best in wedding accessories, especially our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set. It’s unbelievable all the lovely accessories you can purchase from you computer.
Well, the wedding was beautiful and the reception was just as perfect. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. We had a wonderful DJ that I’m sure, kept the music going long after we left for our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.

I really enjoyed the convenience of shopping online and having all my supplies delivered to my door, saved me the trouble of running all over town. I found everything from invitations to wedding favors, and some items at wholesale prices. Our invitations weren’t the only thing I saved money on, I also saved on other accessories too. I saved on items like wedding tiaras for my bridesmaids, flower girl, and also bought my bridal tiara, flower girl basket, flower petals and checked out some great ring bearer pillow wedding suggestions. I was surprised there could be so many styles and designs for satin ring pillows.
They had all the reception supplies I could hope for. Along with the glassware I added beautiful candles to make each table setting as elegant as possible. There was such an assortment of themed wedding and destination wedding ideas, and a great selection of wedding favors too. In about three and a half weeks I’m giving my sister a baby shower and I already know where I’m getting the decorations, favors and other party supplies from. I already know what supplies and favors I want to order, but I have to do that until some time next week. That’s when we get to find out if I’ll have a little niece or a little nephew. Then I can order the favors in pink or blue, even though there are other neutral colors I could choose.
My mother’s suggestion on shopping by computer really helped out a lot in terms of time and money. My mom also helped me so much with arranging my reception and helping me get the thank you cards all done. You’re really a life saver mom. Maybe I can use this online shopping thing for our future anniversary parties. They had some very nice ideas for anniversaries, like decorations, cake toppers and even favor gifts for guests. I saw a lot of lovely ideas for my mom and dad’s 30th wedding anniversary. My sister and I should get together and discuss it. Their 30th isn’t that far away, no use waiting until the last minute.
